Ernst Schneider

I’m most passionate about chainsaw carving and sculpting and have been involved with the two since 2010. I believe that artistic creativity is an innate character trait rather than an acquired skill. I’ve always loved the experience of losing myself in thought and diving into the world of art and imagination. This creative introspection allows me to produce a niche art that is not only aesthetically beautiful, but one-of-a-kind.

Throughout my short career, I’ve accumulated a repertoire of artistic techniques that have allowed me to better illustrate my intentions as an artist. My aim is to create unforgettable works and impart a deep emotional connection between objects and human beings whenever I begin a new piece. As a result, most of my work conveys the synthesis between the figurative and the abstract, and the real and imaginary.

I believe that my constant exposure to new ideas and three-dimensional types of art is what has allowed me to develop into the artist I am today. My ultimate aim is to focus on the quality of my work rather than the quantity of it and impart a small piece of myself as an artist into each and every one of my creations.
I also embrace the Japanese Wabi-sabi philosophy, a concept which could be explained briefly as being the expression of beauty through imperfection and simplicity. By almost entirely using recycled materials it is a way of creating an aesthetic ideal, attainable by learning to see the invisible, paring away what is unnecessary, and knowing where to stop.
