The Vasse Art Award (VAA) launched in 2004 as a fundraiser for a small country Primary School and has since grown to become one of the largest exhibitions in the South West.

The event has been privileged to welcome the judging expertise of several arts industry identities including former Art Gallery of Western Australia director Allan Dodge as well as Janet Holmes a’ Court Collection curator Sharon Tassicker.

Funds raised since the event’s inception have helped the Vasse Primary School to fund the Middle School playground, to provide smart boards in classrooms, install a roof between the demountable classrooms and to help refurbish the school canteen. The event also supports the school’s Arts program to enhance artistic skills and understanding.

The VAA remains a vital component of the school’s community and learning programs with students continuing to benefit from the unique exhibition event.
